Libra Lions Dartford – This week, our Lion President along with three other members of our club visited Kings College Hospital in London. The purpose of the visit was to observe a presentation and participate in a ward visit to see the work being done by LIBRA Lions International Blood Research Association. Being close to the hearts of our members, four separate fundraising events have been planned for LIBRA later this year within our area. Lion President, Barbra Whitehead said, “It was an invitation which we simply could not refuse, the presentation was very detailed and the ward visit showed how every penny raised for the cause is very carefully spent on those who need it most”. As well as Dartford Lions Club members, an additional 45 clubs from all over the UK were in attendance at the hospital.
This was a very rare opportunity presented to the Lions Club where our members and fundraisers get to see exactly where the money raised goes !
