Dartford Lions contribute towards £1.5 million target

April 18, 2019

Dartford Lions club members Barbara and John Whitehead have presented a cheque for a thousand pounds to BEAMS on behalf of Dartford Lions club.

BEAMS are a local charity that supports disabled children and their families in Kent and Medway.

The disabled children and young people who access their services are aged 4 to 19 years.

They will usually have one or multiple learning difficulties,  complex health needs such as Down syndrome, cerebral palsy or other life-limiting disease,  physical or sensory impairment, challenging behavior as a result of their disability, autism or severe ADHD.

There work is divided into four key areas. These are short break services,  family advice service, direct payments service, and dragons retreat 6 bedded respite unit.

Club press officer, Rags Sandhu said “As a club who works hard within the community, it is vital that the money is donated to causes who can benefit those who need the most support. Beams is an organisation close to our hearts, particularly as its an organisation for children, we all know – children are our future!”
